You’ll also see two “world’s largest” award winners in the mosque: a chandelier and a carpet. Walking tours are offered each afternoon.

5 . The Cultural District

Abu Dhabi has recently begun to develop a cultural district to add to its other attractions. This district, found on Saadiyat Island, is still under construction as of 2013. There’s already plenty to see, though. Bringing popular artwork to the region is the developer’s vision. The Saadiyat Island Story is a permanent exhibit that was designed to celebrate the developer’s vision. The Guggenheim Abu Dhabi and the Louvre Abu Dhabi will open in the district before 2015. They will showcase artwork that is borrowed from their namesakes as well as build their own collections.
